Never got the metrics to show up in metrics explorer. Was I supposed to install a Logging Agent alongside the Monitoring agent? The section title suggested it, but it wasn't in the text. This codelab is too big, and appears to basically be two parts. 1) monitoring vm creation using a custom log-based metric. 2) monitoring load on an app-engine instance using a custom log-based metic. The setup at the beginning misled me, because it's about part (1), and then you ignore that while you do part (1). Perhaps move the AppEngine parts to a separate codelab, or clearly in a part-2?
